I built this machine as a challenge to myself.
Can I design print and build a printer in less than a week.
I set my challenge with a frame I had previously build with the prospect of building another type of machine but after abandoning it for the P2 it sat idle for a time till the above thought came into my mind.
I would use this frame and build a machine as a challenge, and as it turned out take away complexity simply the design and make it so that any mistakes can be rectified without having to start over.
It took less than a week to get the printer printing ( a little longer to design and print the panels and covers.) and at it turned out it printed better than I could have imagined.
It became the basis for design going forward and with everything learnt from this I built P4 as a larger printer.
This printer is on my desk next to my laptop as I type this right now and it performs as I have come to expect every time over time P3 did receive a few upgrades I changed it from a direct to bowden drive to lighten the x gantry, apart from increasing retraction I didn’t have to change much else. the biggest change was adding a cooling fan for prints that improved print quality substantially.

This machine is built with a build volume of 250mm x 250mm x 150mm high.
